In 2009, EVs were released by Mitsubishi Motors and Fuji Heavy Industries, and will be released
by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in 2010. As the exhibition attracts attention from the general
population for its zero emission cars, it also garners attention from finished vehicle
manufacturers and suppliers for its comprehensive coverage of all EV-related processes,
from design and materials to completion.

The EV market is expected to expand rapidly over the next 10 to 20 years. Although unit
production in still limited, this is the perfect opportunity to enter the EV-related market and
develop a technical and quantitative edge ahead

Since EVs use electric energy, attendees can expect to meet people from an array of other
industry sectors. We anticipate new applications not available with conventional gasoline
vehicles, such as indoor EV driving and charging devices inside commercial facilities.

■Industry Trends
Full-fledged entry into the electric vehicles market began in 2009, and as each automobile
manufacturer brings additional models to market we expect healthy growth in both the number
of units owned and the number sold. In Japan, popularization is forecast to gain momentum
around 2015, with EVs accounting for 10% of vehicles sold in 2020 and approximately 10% of
vehicles owned by 2030.
